WELCOME

NSCA is a homeschool partnership ministry of New Song Christian Fellowship. Our mission is to shape hearts and minds for Christ by partnering with parents in providing educational opportunities outside the home while maintaining their God-given role of being their child’s primary educator.

Students are required to complete weekly assigned homework, projects, and tests. Progress reports are issued for all grade levels. Classes for PreK-8th meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:45-2:35. Beginning September 2020, our new 9th grade program will meet on Wednesdays and Fridays.

ELEMENTARY DIVISION

Our Elementary Division is made up of PreK-5th grades. Parents of elementary students follow their own Language Arts & Math programs with their children. The instruction offered by NSCA is complementary to the Language Arts and Math done at home and does not replace it.

PreK-2nd Grades

To enter PreK, a student must be 4 years old by 10/31 and potty trained. PreK-2nd are in self-contained classrooms divided by grade. Students work on basic skills along with:

  • History

  • Science

  • Writing

  • Art

  • Chapel/Small Group Discipleship

  • In PreK and K, NSCA partners with parents by providing some instruction in reading, allowing students to progress to other subjects once reading has been firmly established.

3rd-5th Grades:

Students in grades 3-5 are divided into classes by grade and switch classrooms for each subject:

  • History (including Ky History for 4th graders)

  • Science

  • Writing

  • Art (Tuesday)

  • Spanish (Thursday)

  • Chapel/Small Group Discipleship

  • 5th Grade Math is offered as an optional elective

MIDDLE DIVISION

Our Middle Division program, for 6th-8th grade students, is comprehensive when Math is included. Parents may choose and oversee their own Math program at home or utilize one of our Math electives. Students not taking NSCA’s Math elective will have Study Hall during that class period.

6th-8th grade classes:

  • History

  • Science

  • Literature/Vocabulary

  • Grammar/Writing

  • Chapel/Small Group Discipleship

  • Math (typically during the program day) and Spanish (after school) are offered as optional electives.

HIGH SCHOOL

We are starting a high school program in September 2020 beginning with 9th grade and plan to add a grade each year through 12th grade!

Classes will be held on Wednesdays and Fridays following a block schedule. Each class will meet once/week for 90 minutes. Core subjects are Bible, English, Science, and History. Electives offered are Math, Spanish 1, Art, and Study Hall. Classes are offered as part of our overall High School program and not a la carte.
